Martin L. Johnson, M.D., F.A.C.S. has spent over twenty-one years specializing in all areas of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He has been named "Top Doc" by Phoenix Magazine numerous times, and has long been considered one of the top surgeons in the Southwest.
Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed general surgery residency programs at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and University of California Hospitals in Los Angeles. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at Medical College of Virginia in 1980.
Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Johnson established Aesthetic Reconstructive Associates, P.C. in 1980. In addition to his practice, Dr. Johnson was chief of plastic surgery at Phoenix Memorial Hospital for seven years, and also held the position of chief of surgery at St. Luke's Medical Center in Phoenix. Dr. Johnson is currently part of the teaching staff of the newly founded Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the Mayo Hospital.

Throughout his 25+ year career, Dr. Martin L. Johnson has been recognized many times as one of the Top Doctor's in his field, and has been given numerous awards and accolades. Most recently, in a national study conducted by the Washington, DC-based Center for the Study of Services (CSS), Dr. Martin L. Johnson was voted one of the nation's Top Doctors in Costmetic Surgery and featured in Phoenix Magazine's April 2000 Top Doc's issue. What makes this award so prestigious, is that the voting and stringent criteria is controlled by his peers - fellow Doctors. CSS sent a questionnaire to more than 4500 office-based and hospital-based physicians in Maricopa County and asked each physician to recommend the specialists he or she would "consider most desirable for care of a loved one." CSS set the cutoff for the listing at four mentions, which eliminated a vast majority of the field. In the Plastic Surgery category,
Dr. Johnson received the most mentions, 41% more than the nearest doctor. Doctor Johnson was then again recognized in the April 2001 Top Doc's issue of Phoenix Magazine, which was awarded and determined as before, by survey sent to over 5000 of his peers.
